Plutus

Not yet surveyed.

The molten world of Plutus is a breathtaking and dangerous place, with rivers of glowing-hot magma that flow through craggy landscapes dotted with towering volcanoes. The air is thick with smoke and sulfurous fumes, the sky alternating between an orange-red glow and a deep, ink-black night. The ground constantly trembles and shakes, and the stars are obscured by a veil of turbulent ash. Yet even in the midst of its roiling chaos, there is incredible beauty to be found on Plutus. In the brief moments of respite between eruptions and seismic tremors, the magma pools reflect a brilliant sheen of electric blues, oranges and pinks, sparkling with the promise of alien life just beyond the horizon.

The dominant species of Plutus are the Plutuscans, a race of graceful, four-legged amphibious creatures with long, powerful tails and luminous golden skin that is impervious to the heat of the lava. They have wide, saucer-like eyes that are capable of perceiving a spectrum of light far beyond what humans can see, giving them an unparalleled vision of the ever-shifting world around them. Physically nimble and incredibly agile, the Plutuscans can traverse the molten rocks with ease and speed, able to leap from cliff to cliff as if they were not made of burning rock. Despite their strange environment, the Plutuscans have a deep and abiding love for their world, and their culture is built around the need to protect it. Their intricate language flows like lava, and their ceremonies are a testament to their resilient spirit and creative spirit in the face of destruction.
