Hel

Not yet surveyed.

Hel was once a thriving metropolis, with densely-packed cities stretching across the landscape as far as the eye could see. But a great war raged on the planet, leaving it consumed in the fires of destruction. The war ignited a nuclear winter that rendered the planet uninhabitable, its soil poisoned and its cities reduced to rubble. Now, all that remains are silent, desolate reminders of the planet's one-time grandeur, crumbling ruins and rusting hulks sprawled across the barren and desolate landscape. Those brave enough to venture to Hel may find bits of forgotten technology and items that are small reminders of the planet's past life.

Endemic species

Helians

Hel's native species are a strange and unique combination of organic and artificial life. They are small, humanoid creatures, resembling insects in size and shape, with a carapace of metal plates that cover their bodies. Their limbs and their heads are shaped like those of a human but are also composed of fine machinery and circuitry. Their heads are adorned with multicolored light-emitting eyes, both for sensing their environment and as a means of communication. These creatures are able to rebuild their bodies from whatever materials they can find on the planet, giving them a near-immortality and allowing them to rebuild their civilization from the ashes of the planet's past.
