Styx is a stark and unforgiving ice world orbiting a distant star. It has been likened to the seven circles of hell, only far colder and devoid of any hope of salvation. Long abandoned spaceships from bygone ages are scattered across its frozen wasteland, as if frozen in time in an unending cycle of purgatory.
The icy polar winds whip through Styx like an icy whip, bringing a bitter cold and an unearthly chill. Inhabitants tell tales of dementor-like creatures that lurk in the shadows, trapping any who venture too close in a place between heaven and hell. The inhabitants are often lost and purposeless, their skeletal figures stark against the icy backdrop. All in all, Styx is a place to be avoided.

Endemic species
Nekroids
The native inhabitants of Styx are the Nekroids, an offshoot of the ancient Urgari species. Their skin is armoured in a carapace of intricate black icicles, their eyes gleaming a pale blue amid the frozen snowdrifts. Despite their alien features, they bear a remarkable resemblance to humans.
The Nekroids are as mysterious and fearsome as the planet they inhabit. It is said that they have the ability to manipulate time and space, and have used this power to trap many an unwary explorer in an unending cycle of lost souls. They are reclusive and often hostile, keeping to themselves in the frozen wastes and rarely making contact with outsiders.
Those who have studied the Nekroids believe that they carry a deep and ancient knowledge, a secret to unlocking the mysteries of their icy world. But the Nekroids guard their secrets closely, and any who venture too close will discover the truth of their power the hard way.
