Dinornis

Dinornis is a desolate desert world, its once lush surface now eerily silent and desiccated. It was not always so though; long ago, the planet was blanketed in a dense bush for millions of years, the home of countless native species. But the planet's fortunes changed overnight when the skies were darkened by an unexpected astroid. The resulting cataclysm destroyed the ecosystem, leaving only a few surviving species to scurry into the underground caves. Now, the surface of Dinornis is a surface of sand dunes and jagged rock formations, with its only signs of life coming from the occasional scurrying of its subterranean denizens. It is a reminder of the swift and dramatic changes that can occur in a planet's history, and a reminder of the fragile balance that life must maintain in order to survive.
