Sphincterium is a barren world unlike any other. At first glance, this planet appears completely lifeless and desolate, but upon closer examination, one can observe the tightly-packed, dense city of Martian-like structures that have risen from the grey, barren surface. The city's buildings glint in the hazy light of the three distant stars, the only source of illumination in the otherwise still darkness.
The horizon of Sphincterium is dotted with peculiarly-shaped mountains, their silhouettes wobbling in the heat shimmer. Those who brave the difficult terrain, however, are rewarded with a glimpse of the vibrant and bizarre fauna, which speaks in a language of deep and bassy frequencies. The native beings thrive in the bushy environment, sustained by the sulphurous air. Sphincterium is a truly unique experience and a planet unlike any other.

Endemic species
The Sphincts
The denizens of Sphincterium are a reptillian species of sentient beings, known as the Sphincts.
Towering at 4 meters in height, the creatures of Sphincterium have a combination of humanoid and reptilian features. Their heads are large and eerily featureless, absorbing nutrients directly from the noxious atmosphere. They have an aquamarine- colored scales covering their bodies and webbed feet, which aid them in swimming in the liquid sulfur oceans of the planet. In order to protect themselves against the extreme temperature of the planet, the Sphincts possess a thick, protective shell.
The Sphincts have developed a complex language and culture. They are adept at finding ways to survive in the inhospitable environment of their planet. They are powerful hunters and fierce warriors, but also have an affinity for the arts. They practice a form of storytelling each evening, sharing tales of epic battles and legendary heroes.
The Sphincts also use their environment to their advantage, harnessing the power of the hot air and sulfur to access great energy sources. They have learnt to use this energy to power their cities, and allow a small number of visitors access to their planet.
