Rumworld

Not yet surveyed.

Rumworld is a barren planet of grey and brown rock dusted with a fine, golden-hued dust that sparkles in the low light of its two small moons. Its gravity is low and its atmosphere thin, making it an ideal place for smugglers and pirates to hide out. Steep canyons wind throughout the planet, providing perfect hideouts for pirate bases. The planet is known for its abundance of rum, with which smugglers and pirates alike fuel their debaucherous and lawless behavior. Rumworld’s night skies are often filled with floating pirate castles, thick black smoke billowing out of the roving vessels and up into the stars. Tales of Rumworld are whispered by sailors across the stars, telling of lawlessness and danger, sure to lure in the thrill-seeking and brave.

Endemic species

Groggs

The native species of Rumworld are the Groggs, a mysterious race of humanoid aliens with glowing yellow eyes. They are tall and thin, their pale skin stretched tight over bony frames that seem almost skeletal at times. Groggs are adept in the use of technology, having used their advanced knowledge to construct massive underground cities to avoid the dangers of Rumworld’s surface. Despite their use of technology, Groggs prefer to live a simpler life of trade, bartering goods and services from their cities. They are feared by many due to their long connections with pirate and smuggler culture, including trading rare and illegal artifacts. Groggs are fiercely independent, having learned to survive and thrive outside of traditional societal structures. They are known to be cunning and sly, and often make great leaders amongst their pirate ship crews. Rumworld is an intensely hostile environment, and the Groggs have adapted to survive in this dangerous place. They are known to be fierce fighters, able to use their emaciated bodies as weapons of destruction. Groggs are also notorious for using their advanced technological knowledge to create powerful traps and mechanisms, giving them the edge over challengers.
